Not a lot of saltwater news this week with anglers still flocking to the fresh water fisheries. Hopefully the Squid will start to move in along the North Coast in the coming weeks before the breeding season begins. Also as the days start dragging out so approaches the Snapper season, now is the time to start perfecting your methods so you are ready to role.
FOUR SPRINGS LAKE
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
Four Springs started the week strong but went quiet as the week progressed with anglers putting in a lot of time over the weekend without a lot of reward. Unfortunately there has also been some reports of weed growth already. Soft Plastics – Black and Golds doing most of the damage.
TAILRACE
Species: Sea Run Trout.
The Sea Run Trout are starting to make their way back up the river with some decent fish being caught in the Tailrace this past week. Sitting back and bait fishing the best way to try and land a Sea Runner.
LAKE LEAKE
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
Lake Leake is once again off to a flyer with the lake once again proving popular with anglers. Both soft plastics and Hardbodies working well.
BLACKMANS LAGOON
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
If you live in the North East of the state you will be very familiar with Blackmans Lagoon near Waterhouse Point. If you’re after a relaxing day fishing then Blackmans will be a great destination as the ever faithful Berkley Powerbait is working a treat on the Rainbows down there and if you’re an avid flyfisher then the Browns have been performing well on a wet fly.
