TAMAR RIVER
Species: Kingfish, King George Whiting.
The mouth of the Tamar River resembled the spectator fleet of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race over the weekend with anglers flocking to the area to try their luck chasing Kingfish.
Sunday was the pick of the days with Anglers finding plenty of fish. Recent weeks they have been catching them out around the farewell beacons, however this week they were more so in the river off Kelso.
Hardbodies and Soft plastic lures around the 12-14cm length working wonders.
And for those wanting a peaceful day of bottom fishing, the King George Whiting were still being caught up and down each side of the river.
ST PATRICKS RIVER
Species: Trout.
Located out near Nunamara, the St Patricks River feeds into the North Esk River. This little river is a great little Trout haven and is an ideal river to spend the day wading the shallows.
The ever-faithful 2” black and gold T Tail is all you need for a successful day out fishing the St Patricks River.
ST HELENS
Species: Albacore, Bluefin Tuna.
The water temperature off the coast of St Helens has started to creep up towards 20 degrees, which should hopefully bring with it schools of Tuna. Perfect timing for the St Helens Game Fishing Comp over the March long weekend.
