Trout season kicked off with a bang on the weekend with anglers hitting up all the hotspots.
FOUR SPRINGS LAKE
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
As predicted, Four Springs Lake was a hive of activity over the weekend with local anglers flocking to Four Springs to get their early season fix. Hardbody Lures such as Hawk Snipers and Lucky Craft flash minnows proving popular among the Trout.

LAKE LEAKE
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
Last years favourite lake got off to a flyer over the weekend with the lake once again proving popular with anglers. Hardbodies and Soft Plastics such as the Strike Tiger T-Tail and the Curl Tail Grub which give off more vibration to help attract the fish in the darker waters.

TOOMS LAKE
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
The Launceston Angling Club took up residence at Tooms Lake over the weekend where they held there opening weekend angling comp. With a number of Trout weighed in, the event was once again a huge success.
EAGLEHAWK NECK
Species: Bluefin Tuna.
The Barrels are back at Eaglehawk Neck with a couple being caught this past week. They can be a bit hit and miss so it will pay to run a spread of assorted skirts and divers to increase your chances of hooking one.
BICHENO
Species: Striped Trumpeter.
Anglers were making the most of the limited time left before the Striped Trumpeter season closes on September the 1st till October 31th, Jigem rigs or Bottom rigs with fresh bait the best method.
