Twas the week before Trout Season, when all through the state not a fish was stirring not even a Salmon. The lakes were stocked, the fishing rods were rigged in hopes that Saturday morning would soon be here.
The boat was hitched all snug on the car, while visions of a early season 10 pounder Trout came to mind.
Happy Trout Season Opening Week Anglers!
Trout season kicks off this weekend and we look forward to hearing about all the wonderful catches next week because all the recent bad weather has made writing this report hard!
NORTH COAST
Species: Squid.
Now is the time of year that the Squid start migrating along the North Coast of Tasmania and if it’s anything like last season we should be in for a treat. Flicking squid jigs across weed beds from the boat or shore will work or floating one out the back of the boat while drifting a great option as well.
The Squid season will close for spawning season some time in the coming months, keep your eye on https://dpipwe.tas.gov.au/sea-fishing-aquaculture/recreational-fishing/recreational-fishing-seasons for the latest advice on when this will occur.
