The Saltwater scene is still pretty quiet, but anglers are having great success in the freshwater scene.
PENSTOCK LAGOON
Species: Brown Trout.
A man made lagoon located in the Central Highlands, originally constructed as a water storage lagoon for the Waddamana power station. No longer used for electricity generation, Penstock is a high quality shallow water lake ideal for flyfishing.
Anglers this week found great success walking the shoreline.
LAKE LEAKE
Species: Brown Trout.
Did you know Lake Leake was originally constructed in 1883 to supply Campbell Town with a permanent water supply? Anglers have had recent success on both soft plastics (Strike Tiger Nymph) and Hardbody lures (Rapala Rainbow Trout).
BRUMBYS CREEK
Species: Brown Trout.
A great little fishery located a short drive from Cressy. Soft plastic lures in a Black and Gold colour, and for the bait anglers, worms fished in the quiet back waters working well.
TALBOTS LAGOON
Species: Brown and Rainbow Trout.
Situated in the North West of the state, generally shallow with many snags and submerged trees. Talbots Lagoon is perfect for a kayak or wading the shore. Both soft plastics (Strike Tiger Nymph – Olive) and Hardbody lures (Rapala Fire Tiger) are ideal for this waterway.
