GEORGES BAY
Species: Silver Trevally.
One of Tasmania’s favourite holiday destinations. Located on the East Coast – Georges Bay is a great diversified fishing location for the entire family and is easily fished from the shore or by boat. Home to a number of quality fish species including Flathead, King George Whiting, Squid, Australian Salmon and lately Silver Trevally. Anglers have found the best way to target the Silver Trevally is with Soft Plastics.
BRUMBY’S CREEK
Species: Brown Trout.
Over the weekend Brumbys Creek was home to the annual Trout Expo. With over 1000 people attending the event, the main draw card was Teddy the Brown Trout, which if caught rewarded the angler with $10000. At the time of writing this report the elusive Teddy was still on the run.
WOODS LAKE
Species: Brown Trout.
The ever popular Woods Lake has seen a lot of recent success on Hardbody Lures. The Jaz Minofish (Black and Gold) and the Hawks Sniper (Spotted Assassin).
FOUR SPRINGS LAKE
Species: Brown Trout.
As always Launcestons go to Trout fishing lake is still fishing well. The good old live worm on a hook proving a cheap and extremely effective way to land a feed. Now’s the time to head out to Four Springs while the weather is still cooler, The Lake tends to become over run with algae through the warmer months.
