NORTH WEST COAST
Species:Â Eastern Nannygai.
A first for the weekly fishing report! Eastern Nannygai reported on the North West Coast. Predominantly a fish caught on the South East Coast of Australia, mainly in South Australia and New South Wales. Another species to start appearing in Tasmanian waters over the past few years.
A bottom dwelling species so the best way to target these is fresh bait or slow pitched jigging.
SCAMANDER RIVER
Species:Â Bream.
The bridge may have come down but the Bream are still calling the Scamander River home. Efforts have also been made in trying to open up the mouth of the river, which is great news for the local Bream population as it will allow them to leave the river and head up the coast to their spawning grounds in Georges Bay.
Bottom rigs with bait for a relaxing day fishing or soft plastics and hard body lures if you’re up for a challenge.
WATERHOUSE ISLAND
Species:Â Flathead and Gummy Shark.
Calm conditions made for an enjoyable day on the water around the Coast of Waterhouse Island, with anglers catching plenty of Flathead and Gummy Shark. As always Jigems, Long Lines and fresh bait the best options.
