LOW HEAD
Species: Calamari Squid & King George Whiting
The Squid spawning closure is over and the Calamari are making their presence felt, which had anglers excited over the weekend with more than plenty caught. The Yoshikawa Squid jig in colour ‘Parrot’ doing the most damage.
King George Whiting were also caught around the mouth of the river, using the Hayabusa Whiting rigs.
BRIDPORT
Species: Flathead, Gummy Shark, Snapper & Calamari Squid
The North East Coast was hot and proving popular for anglers with many landing mixed bags full, all of well size. Jig Em and Flasher rigs working well on the Flathead, long lines with Squid or fish heads as bait for the Gummies and soft plastics or bait for the Snapper. Calamari was also caught along the coast, with many caught between Bridport and Waterhouse.
WOODS LAKE / ARTHURS LAKE
Species: Brown Trout
Anglers reporting still having great success Trout fishing. Over the weekend there was plenty of Brown Trout being caught, with Woods Lake and Arthurs Lake being the go to. Hardbodies and Tillins Cobras both working well.
