Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 9 October 2019

LOW HEAD

Species: King George Whiting.

The King George Whiting have arrived in fashion down the mouth of the river. King George are a great eating and fun to catch fish. The Hayabusa Whiting rigs are purpose built to target the King George Whiting.

LAKE ROWALLAN

Species: Brown Trout.

Carrying on from last week, Lake Rowallan is still fishing very well. Hard body lures working well the past week, the Rapala Rainbow Trout and Firetiger being the pick of the bunch.

DEVONPORT

Species: Snapper.

The once elusive Tassie Snapper is slowly developing into a great fishery along the North coast of Tasmania. Catching a snapper still requires a lot of patience and many hours on the water. Mustard Flasher rigs or Running sinker rigs the easiest way to target these. A little tip โ€“ the fresher the bait the better.

WATERHOUSE ISLAND

Species: Flathead.

Located a short drive from Bridport, Waterhouse Island is a great fishery with many fish species calling the area home. The past week the Flathead have been biting well.
