The 2020 – 2021 Trout season kicked off Saturday with anglers pouring into the popular fisheries. Anglers who fished Lakes out performing those who chose to fish the rivers with river anglers doing it tough.
FOUR SPRINGS LAKE
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
As mentioned last week, Four Springs was always going to be a popular location on Saturday morning and we weren’t wrong with Anglers flocking to the lake to get their early season Trout fix.
If fishing Hardbody Lures is your go to then the Hawk Sniper in the Killer Wasp colour was the pick of the bunch, or if Soft Plastics are your thing then the ever faithful Berkley Black & Gold T-Tail was working well.
BRUMBYS CREEK
Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.
Lake Leake produced some cracking fish over the weekend. Located along the B34 Highway on the road to Swansea makes Lake Leake an easy to access lake and the ideal place to take a break on your drive to the coast. Both Hardbody and Soft Plastic lures working well.
ST HELENS & COLES BAY
Species: Bluefin Tuna.
Just when you think they have all but vanished they switch back on again. Catches of “Schoolie” sized Bluefin featuring in many reports from the weekend. The new Halco Laser Pro Lumo colour wreaking havoc all up and down the coast.
