Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 3rd February 2021

ST HELENS

Species:ย  Bream.

Round 1 of the Tas Tournaments โ€“ Tasmanian Bream Classic was held over the weekend at St Helens. With over 150 Bream weighed in for the event it was a great success.

Congratulations to all involved on running another successful event and keeping the Bream tournament scene alive in Tasmania.

TAMAR RIVER

Species:ย  Salmon and King George Whiting.

Great eating, great fun and in great numbers in the Tamar River. If you are looking for a great species to get you started in fishing, then fishing for Salmon is a great option. Casting and retrieving silver slices from a boat, bank or jetty an efficient way to land a some Salmon.

And for the King George Whiting lovers a monster 80cm fish was landed down the heads of the Tamar yesterday!

KINGFISH

Location:ย  Statewide.

Continuing the theme from last week โ€“ Kingfish are now being caught state wide with some impressive fish measuring 1 metre plus landed. Anglers trolled small skirted Tuna lures in and around structures and had no problem landing a few.
