A near perfect weekend weather wise provided anglers with plenty of opportunity to get out and try their luck, with many reporting successful outings.
BICHENO & ST HELENS
Species: Striped Trumpeter & Morwong.
Located around the 50-80 metre mark. Mustard Flasher rigs in the Bleeding Pilchard colour and Shogun Deep Sea Lumo rigs.
SCAMANDER RIVER
Species: Bream.
Located in the lower reaches of Scamander River, anglers have had recent success on decent sized Bream. Hardbody lures including the Lucky Craft Minnow and the Cranka Crabs in the olive colour working a treat.
EAST COAST
Species: Bluefin Tuna.
Situated between Schouten Passage and St Helens, 20-30kg schoolies. While conditions have been perfect many anglers have reported a lot of sightings but hook ups are few and far between.
Halco Laser Pro in the King Brown and Pilchard colour still being effective.
LOW HEAD
Species: Gummy Shark & Flathead.
Everyones favourite bottom dwellers, Gummy Sharks and Flathead are being reported, Mustard flasher rigs or Gummy Shark rigs with a running sinker for the Gummy Sharks. The ever-effective “Jig Em” Rig, a perfect way to target the Flathead, while also a attractive rig for anything else lurking along the bottom.
