Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 24 December 2019

NORTH COAST

Species: Gummy Sharks.

If you are after some fresh Flake for the holidays, then the North Coast is the place to be with plenty of Gummy Sharks being caught this past week. With the area between Devonport and Barrenjoey (10th island) being the hot spots.
Flasher Rigs or Paternoster Rigs with fresh bait working well.

EAST COAST

Species: Crayfish.

A Christmas lunch favourite – With most zones now open to fish there have been plenty of reports of good sized crays in the lead up to the holidays.
All methods working well, Pots, Rings or Diving.

TAMAR RIVER

Species: Snapper.

The Tamar River is quietly having its best Snapper season ever with continuous reports of solid Snapper being reported daily. As mentioned in previous reports the fresher the bait the better your chances are of landing one.
