WEYMOUTH
Species: Flathead.
Launceston show day gave us retail workers an extra day off and a few of our staff members took the opportunity to head down to Weymouth for the day. Apart from a poorly placed Red Gurnard spike, the day was a great success. A simple Paternoster rig working a treat on the Flathead.
TAMAR RIVER
Species: Atlantic Salmon.
Love them or hate them, fish farms present anglers with the ideal fishing opportunity. Fishing in the same area is a great way to land the odd escapee. Pink lures and rigs were reported as having the upper advantage.
WOODS LAKE
Species: Brown Trout.
Woods Lake along with Penstock Lagoon and Little Pine Lagoon will be playing host to the world fly fishing championships on the 30th November through to the 8th of December. The event will showcase what Tasmania has to offer as a Trout fishing destination. Woods is currently fishing well, with hardbody lures the flavour of the week up there.
FOUR SPRINGS
Species: Rainbow and Brown Trout.
With the weather warming up, now is the time to hit up Four Springs Lake before weed growth hinders the fishing. Fresh worms and Berkely Power bait the most effective methods this week.
